SMS Terms & Conditions
Program: The Tax Office Alerts
Provider: The Tax Office, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”)
Last updated: September 22, 2025
These SMS Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) describe how we send text messages and your rights. By enrolling in or otherwise consenting to receive texts from us, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Program description
We send informational and limited promotional text messages, including (i) tax-deadline alerts, (ii) appointment confirmations and reminders, (iii) portal/document notifications, (iv) critical filing updates (e.g., e-file accepted/rejected), and (v) occasional announcements such as office hours or giveaways.
2. Opt-in & consent
You may opt in by submitting your mobile number via our website form and checking the SMS consent box, by consenting in person or over the phone, or by any other method we make available. By opting in, you authorize us to send text messages to the mobile number you provided using an automated system. Consent is not a condition of purchase or service.
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. You may receive more texts during deadline periods (e.g., Jan–Apr, Sept–Oct) and fewer at other times.
4. Costs
Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan for details. You are responsible for any charges from your carrier.
5. How to opt out
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You may also use other common opt-out keywords recognized by carriers (e.g., END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT). After you text STOP, we may send a final message to confirm your opt-out. No further messages will be sent unless you opt in again.
6. Help
For help, reply HELP to any message or contact us at 602-547-0520 or Support@thetaxofficeaz.com.
7. Eligibility & account owner
By opting in, you confirm you are the owner or authorized user of the mobile number provided and are 18+. If your number changes, you agree to update us promptly to avoid messages to someone else who may inherit your old number.
8. Supported carriers & delivery
Delivery of messages is subject to effective transmission by your mobile carrier and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Privacy
We collect and retain information related to your SMS enrollment and interactions (e.g., phone number, opt-in/opt-out records, message metadata) to operate the program and comply with law. We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to the program or these Terms
We may modify or suspend the SMS program or these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted at this page with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued participation constitutes acceptance of any changes.
11. Disclaimers; limitation of liability
Texts are provided for convenience and general information; they are not legal or tax advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the SMS program. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, for the messages (typically $0).
12. Dispute resolution; governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona (without regard to conflict-of-laws rules). Venue for any dispute shall be in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona. You agree to bring claims in your individual capacity only (no class actions or representative proceedings).
